SAMMAEL MASTER of the RAVENWING JETBIKE “SABLECLAW” COUNTS-AS CONVERSION
by bish ·
I finally found some time to work on my Sammael Master of the Ravenwing Jetbike “Sableclaw” Counts-as Conversion, say that five times fast!
I used various bits from the Ravenwing Accessory Pack Sprue and the Ravenwing Command Squad Sprue. I used Privateer Press Brown/Aluminum Putty to fill in and sculpt the robes as well as the book mark. I like the Brown/Aluminum better than Greenstuff because it dries harder and can hold fine detail better. I also used Blue Stuff (I actually used this product which is the same as Blue Stuff, but I got it off of Amazon.com, I found the clear actually holds detail better in the casting.) to make an Aves Fixit-Scuplt cast from my metal Sammael’s cape and badge. For those wondering about the legality of doing that, GW has encouraged tthe casting of small bits in this way as long as they are for personal use and you’re not selling them. They even had an article in White Dwarf on how to do it several years ago.
The rest of the conversion follows my step by step for the Talonmaster on Jetbike.
I’ve included some close up photos of the areas of the robes that I sculpted. I’ve also included some photos of the Talonmaster with Sammael. Some people wanted to see a size comparison so I also included some photos of the regular Sammael on Corvus and my conversion at the end.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask in the comments below or on the Chamber 42 Facebook page!
So first you need to thin down the jetbike a little.
